Mid-Autumn & Chuseok Festival

A heartwarming night where Tenby and non-Tenby families lit up the campus with laughter, culture, and connection.

03-10-2025

The moonlight and laughter filled the air as families gathered at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park for a night to remember — our Mid-Autumn & Chuseok Festival. It was a beautiful evening where over 300 people came together to celebrate friendship, culture, and community.

All around campus, there was a buzz of excitement. Children and parents rolled up their sleeves at the mooncake workshop by Cezars Kitchen, crafting colourful snow skin mooncakes that looked as delightful as they tasted. Others explored Korean calligraphy and tried on traditional costumes, snapping beautiful photos to remember the moment.

The performances were equally captivating — from our students’ elegant fan dance to the energetic freestyle football show by our CCA coaches. The evening was also joined by moments of calm, graceful tea art performances by our Japanese Tenby parents and their children, a beautiful reminder of the shared traditions that connect us all.

Creativity also took centre stage at the Lantern Making Competition, where students proudly showcased their handmade lanterns — shaped like fishes, houses, classic round lanterns, and rabbits — each made with care using different materials and techniques.

As the night drew to a close, families gathered for the Lantern Parade, walking around the campus with their glowing lanterns — some handmade, some bought — sharing stories, laughter, and quiet conversations under the moonlight.

The evening was made even sweeter with free snacks, food trucks, and goodie bags filled with treats sponsored by our school, generous parents, and vendors.

A heartfelt thank you to all our staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to our parents who sponsored and supported the event, and to everyone who came together to make it so special.

It was more than just a celebration — it was a night where light, culture, and community truly came together.
