A lot can change over 30 years in education. Classrooms evolve, technology changes and a teaching career can grow into school leadership. For Dr Iain Slade, however, one thing has remained constant — his passion for helping young people learn and grow.
Dr Iain started his career as a teacher, teaching Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Critical Thinking, Business Studies and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Those years in the classroom shaped the educator and leader he is today, giving him a strong understanding that every student learns differently and that the right support and encouragement can make a real difference.
His career has since taken him across school communities in the UK, China and Indonesia, before bringing him to Malaysia. Along the way, Dr Iain moved into school leadership and has spent more than 15 years leading and supporting students, teachers and school communities.
Now, as Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, Dr Iain brings together three decades of experience from classrooms and schools around the world.
He may spend less time at the front of a classroom these days, but he remains a teacher at heart — curious about how students learn, passionate about creating the right environment for them, and committed to making school a place where young people can discover just how much they are capable of.
Richard brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and dedication to our school community. With 16 years in education, his journey began as a Geography teacher in top-performing London schools, where he quickly rose to leadership positions as Head of Department and Faculty. For the past seven years he served as Assistant Headteacher in a Lincolnshire grammar school, raising standards and student outcomes, and successfully expanding the sixth form provision.
Richard is a passionate advocate for student academic achievement. He is deeply invested in educational research in support of this, particularly meta-cognition and retrieval practice strategies. His experience implementing these concepts had a demonstrable positive impact on students' achievement and their enjoyment of learning.
A true lifelong learner, Richard initially excelled in the field of Civil Engineering, earning a 1st Class MEng (Hons) from The University of Nottingham. After four years working in structural engineering, his passion for education led him to pursue a rewarding career change. He holds a PGCE from UCL Institute of Education in London and most recently achieved the National Professional Qualification for Headship (May 2023).
Richard believes in empowering students to step outside their comfort zones in learning and wider school experiences, to enable them to be the best version of themselves.
Ian Rinaldi is an experienced international school leader with extensive experience in primary education from 2006 to the present. He brings a thoughtful, people-centred approach to leadership, grounded in the belief that great leaders recognise individual strengths and bring people together around a shared purpose.
From 2019 to 2025, Ian served as Head of Primary (Founding) at Hamilton International School, Doha, an ISP flagship campus. In this role, he led a large international primary school of over 850 students and 75 staff, overseeing curriculum development, safeguarding (achieving Mastery status), staffing, and daily operations. His leadership ensured strong academic outcomes alongside a nurturing and inclusive pastoral environment.
Prior to Doha, Ian held senior leadership roles in both Singapore and the UK, including Deputy Head of Primary at Dover Court International School. Earlier in his career, he progressed into senior leadership at Merton Bank Primary School in the UK, contributing to the school’s Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating and national recognition.
Since September 2025, Ian and his family have been travelling across Southeast Asia while homeschooling their two children. These experiences have further shaped his belief in learning that is balanced, meaningful, and rooted in curiosity. Outside of school life, he enjoys cooking, sports, and reading about leadership and personal growth. At the heart of Ian’s work is a belief in developing people—nurturing confident learners and empowering educators to grow, collaborate, and lead with purpose!
Ms. Saw, a seasoned educator with an MSc in Educational Psychology, is dedicated to creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Inspired by Alfie Kohn's philosophy that "What matters is not what we teach; it’s what they learn, and the probability of real learning is far higher when the students have a lot to say about both the content and the process," Ms. Saw empowers students to take ownership of their education.
With over two decades of experience in the field, Ms. Saw has made significant contributions to education. Prior to joining Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, she served as a Senior Assistant at a prestigious private school.
