Celebrating Malaysia Through Our Diverse Roots

19-09-2025

A rare moment where every culture stood side by side under one flag.

Malaysia Day at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park was a day filled with colour, pride, and togetherness. Students, teachers, and staff from both schools — International and National Curriculum — arrived on campus dressed in a stunning array of traditional outfits, reflecting the diverse cultures that make Malaysia and Selangor so special.

The celebrations began with a lively parade led confidently by our uniform bodies — including the Red Crescent, Police Cadet, Scouts, Girl Guides, Bomba, and Kadet Remaja Sekolah. Their presence and leadership set the tone for the morning, followed by a powerful Chinese drum performance, also student-led, that drew everyone’s attention to the heart of the event. As the Jalur Gemilang was raised and Negaraku rang out, the entire school community stood together in a moment that gave us all goosebumps.

Our Heads of School shared heartfelt greetings in different local languages, reminding us that language, like culture, connects us all. The morning ended with a rare and meaningful moment — a group photo of our entire Tenby family, capturing not just faces, but the spirit of unity we experienced that day in Setia Alam.

Beyond celebrating our nation, events like this inspire our students to stay curious about each other’s cultures and to show care and respect for people from all walks of life. Malaysia Day was not just a celebration of heritage, but a reminder that while we come from many different roots, we flourish when we grow together as one Tenby community in Selangor.
