A Week Where Stories Came to Life at Tenby

Book Week brought our International School and Sekolah Sri Tenby communities together through book character dress-up, storytelling sessions and a celebration of reading!

What if you could step into the pages of your favourite book for a day?

That was exactly what happened during Book Week at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, as students and staff from both our International School and Sekolah Sri Tenby came together to celebrate the joy of reading. Throughout the week, our campus was filled with colourful costumes, captivating stories and exciting activities that encouraged students to discover new books, spark their imagination and develop a lifelong love of reading.

One of the most anticipated highlights was Dress Up Day, where students and teachers arrived as their favourite book characters. From the magical world of Harry Potter to classics like Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, The Cat in the Hat and many other beloved characters, the campus was transformed into a living storybook filled with creativity and excitement.

Among the many creative costumes on display, one trend certainly stood out—Greek mythology. Students and teachers alike arrived dressed as iconic gods, goddesses and mythical figures, adding an unexpected and memorable touch to this year's Book Week celebrations.

Book Week wasn't just about dressing up. Students also enjoyed special storytelling sessions with a visiting author, who shared the inspiration behind creating stories and encouraged young readers to let their imaginations flourish. Throughout the week, an on-campus book fair gave students and families the opportunity to browse and purchase a wide selection of books, making it easy for everyone to discover new favourites and continue their reading journey at home.

Of course, no Book Week celebration would be complete without a little fun from our staff. Our Campus Principal, Mr. Jeffrey Ison, joined in the festivities by dressing up as a pirate, much to the delight of students across the campus.

More than a celebration of books, Book Week brought our entire school community together. It reminded students that reading is not only an essential skill but also a gateway to creativity, curiosity and new perspectives. Whether through dressing up as a favourite character, listening to inspiring stories or finding the next great book to read, every activity encouraged students to see reading as an exciting lifelong adventure.
