International Primary Students Excel in GL Assessments, Reflecting the Impact of Learning.First™

Our International Primary students achieved GL Assessment results 12% above the global average, reflecting the impact of our Learning.First™ approach and personalised, data-informed teaching

At Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, we believe that every child learns differently. That's why assessment is about much more than measuring academic performance—it's about understanding each learner's unique journey and using meaningful insights to help them reach their full potential.

Each year, students in Year 2 to Year 6 in our International Primary School participate in GL Assessments, internationally recognised assessments used by leading schools around the world. The assessments measure students' attainment in English, Mathematics and Science, while providing valuable data that helps teachers understand not only how students are performing, but also how much progress they are making over time.

The results play a key role in our Learning.First™ approach. Rather than focusing solely on grades, our teachers carefully analyse each student's performance to identify strengths, pinpoint areas for further development and personalise learning to meet individual needs. This data-led approach enables teachers to provide the right level of challenge, timely interventions and targeted support, ensuring every child continues to grow in confidence and achieve their personal best.

We are delighted to share that our International Primary students achieved an overall Standardised Age Score (SAS) that is 12% above the global average.

Across all three assessed subjects, our students outperformed both the UK benchmark and the average achieved by international schools worldwide:

• English: SAS 110 (International Schools: 106 | UK Benchmark: 100)
• Mathematics: SAS 113 (International Schools: 105 | UK Benchmark: 100)
• Science: SAS 113 (International Schools: 111 | UK Benchmark: 100)

Beyond these outstanding results, the data also highlights the exceptional progress our students are making throughout their primary years. More than one in three students are progressing beyond the expected level, demonstrating accelerated growth and a strong foundation for future learning.

GL Assessment also recognised the impact of this sustained progress, noting that by the end of Year 6, Tenby students aren't just achieving excellent results—they have made significant progress throughout their primary years, demonstrating the impact of quality teaching and a strong focus on every child's growth.
