Robert Ellis is Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens, bringing more than 25 years of international education and school leadership experience to our community. Having worked across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australasia, Robert brings a truly global perspective to education, with experience leading schools across a wide range of international curricula and learning environments.
At the heart of his leadership is a belief that great schools combine strong academic outcomes with student and staff wellbeing, creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged and able to thrive. His approach is grounded in inclusive practice, strategic thinking, data-informed decision-making and strong partnerships with parents and the wider community. Robert believes in culturally responsive leadership and in preparing young people for a future that will be increasingly innovative, entrepreneurial and globally connected.
As Campus Principal, his vision is to build on the strengths of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens in Johor Bahru, bringing families, educators and the wider community together to create meaningful opportunities for every student to succeed. Outside school, Robert enjoys sport particularly golf travelling and spending time with his family.
David Tingstrom is Head of International Secondary at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens, bringing more than 20 years of experience in education to our secondary school community. An experienced teacher and school leader, David has spent his career continually exploring how students learn best and how teachers can both support and challenge young people to reach their full potential.
Having worked internationally, most recently in Uzbekistan, David is also no stranger to Malaysia. He previously spent four years working at a school in Penang and describes his return to Malaysia as feeling very much like “coming home”. As a science educator and school leader, David has a particular passion for language development and learning, especially supporting students who are learning in English as an additional language.
Central to his approach is the belief that high academic expectations should be accessible to every learner, with students receiving the support and challenge they need to progress with confidence. Together with his wife, David is looking forward to rediscovering Malaysia, its food, culture and natural environment — including, he hopes, plenty of hiking.
Hailing from Lincolnshire in England Ms Vicky holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Teaching and Learning and has been working full time in Education for over 20 Years. After enjoying teaching across the primary age range, Ms Vicky was soon promoted to the leadership position of Deputy Head and her commitment, dedication and passion ensured very successful improvements were made. For Ms Vicky’s first headship role, she was appointed Executive Head Teacher of two schools that needed rapid improvement.
Ms Vicky quickly implemented new changes and successfully led the schools through a very complimentary Ofsted Inspection. Her first International Post was in Doha, Qatar (Al Jazeera Academy) where she successfully assisted with the accreditation by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). Arriving in Malaysia in 2019, Ms Vicky then worked in Nilai (Nilai International School) as the Primary Headteacher where she was also given the responsibility of whole school improvement for both Primary and Secondary teachers. She is very passionate about building strong, effective teams where students are at the heart of every decision made.
Originally from Penang, Xin Jing holds a Master of Arts in Literacy Studies, a Bachelor's degree in Arts, majoring in Chinese Studies with a minor in English, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT). Prior to teaching in international schools, Xin Jing taught in national schools and universities, gaining a broad perspective on education. Xin Jing began her career as a Mandarin teacher, before serving as the Head of Mandarin and later being promoted to Head of Languages.
In her current role as the Assistant Head of Secondary, Xin Jing works closely with staff and students to promote academic excellence and support student development. Passionate about teaching and learning, she is especially happy to see students grow into well-rounded individuals. Xin Jing has been a part of the Tenby community for more than 6 years, where she continues to inspire academic excellence and foster a supportive learning environment. Xin Jing believes that "Education shapes the future and society, empowering individuals to make a positive impact to the world."
Ms Ainnie Ahmad graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla USA, with a BSc in Electrical Engineering. She later perused her passion for teaching and learning with a PGCEi from Queen’s University, Belfast, UK. She came into the teaching profession to make a positive impact on children’s lives, enabling them to become lifelong learners.
She started off as a teaching assistant and worked with children across all key stages. Upon completing her PGCEi she went on to becoming mile post leader, IPC coordinator and has been a committee chair for school improvements exercise. She believes wholeheartedly in the importance of providing children with high quality education, shaping them to be independent, high achieving individuals ready to face the outside world.
Ms Natasya graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology. She later pursued her passion for teaching and learning by obtaining a PGCEi from Queen’s University Belfast, UK. She began her career as a teaching assistant before working as a class teacher, where she gained valuable experience in classroom practice and curriculum delivery. She later progressed into middle leadership, taking on the role of Primary Science Lead.
Ms Natasya believes that educating young learners goes beyond academic success. It involves nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence. She is passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment that inspires children to enjoy learning, develop essential skills, and be well prepared to face future challenges with confidence and resilience.
Ms. V Kauslyia Vasantharajan is an experienced educator and leader with over 15 years in national and international school settings. She is qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT), and a Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT), complemented by extensive professional development in assessment and leadership.
She began her career teaching Science and Biology under the Cambridge curriculum, including Checkpoint Science, IGCSE Biology, and AS Level Biology, before transitioning to the Malaysian National Curriculum (KSSM), teaching a diverse student body. She has held key leadership roles as Head of Science Department and was subsequently promoted to Head of STEM Department, specialising in curriculum development, teaching quality, assessment analysis, and staff development.
She believes that strong collaboration between teachers, students, and parents is key to fostering excellence, promoting effective learning, and raising academic achievement.
Jasmine has dedicated her career to the field of education. She began as an educator, eventually moved into facilitating educational winter programmes for international families, before finally stepping into her role here. With a deep understanding of the needs of both international and local families, Jasmine excels in highlighting the best aspects of the school- where she finds great fulfillment in welcoming new families into the Tenby SEG community.
Beyond her professional commitments, Jasmine is passionate about community building. She actively volunteers with religious non-profit organizations in her free time, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact both within and outside the school community.
