STEAM Day 2026: Inspiring Creativity, Innovation and Hands-On Learning

An inspiring day of innovation and discovery, where students brought learning to life through hands-on STEAM experiences.

02-10-2026

The excitement of STEAM Day 2026 at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens began with an engaging robotic football demonstration during the opening ceremony, giving students an exciting first look at how technology and engineering can be brought to life through hands-on experiences.

The Thunderdome was transformed into a vibrant STEAM learning space, bringing together more than 20 interactive booths featuring external exhibitors, university representatives, student projects and engaging activities. Students from across our schools had the opportunity to explore the different booths, taking part in experiences designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and collaboration.

Exploring STEAM Through Interactive Experiences

Throughout the day, students were encouraged to learn by doing. Each booth offered a different experience, giving students the chance to explore various areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

Students took part in 3D drawing activities, science experiments, mathematics games and interactive technology experiences. Some activities allowed students to see their movements brought to life on screen, while others introduced them to immersive 3D experiences using special glasses.

There were also opportunities to explore robotics, coding, physics, chemistry and biosciences through demonstrations and activities led by external exhibitors and university partners.

The event featured exhibitors and activities from organisations including UTM, Southern University College and UTHM, alongside engaging showcases such as Maths Monkey, Maths Games, Hydro Painting, My-Robot and the Marlborough College Malaysia STEAM Conference Project (Year 9).

Students as Innovators.

A special part of STEAM Day was seeing our own students take an active role in sharing their ideas and creations.

Our TIPS student booths gave students the opportunity to showcase their projects and interact with their peers. These student-led showcases demonstrated how STEAM learning can move beyond theory and into practical experiences, allowing students to apply their knowledge while developing skills in creativity, teamwork, communication and problem-solving.

The robotic football booth, which was a separate activity, was another popular hands-on experience. Students had the opportunity to control robotic cars and play football, turning robotics and technology into an engaging and interactive challenge.

Creativity Meets Technology

STEAM Day also showed that innovation is not limited to science and technology. The event included creative activities such as Hydro Painting , allowing students to explore art through a hands-on approach.

From experimenting with scientific concepts to controlling robots, solving mathematics challenges, exploring 3D technology and creating artwork, students experienced how different areas of STEAM can connect with one another.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

More than just a day of activities, STEAM Day provided students with opportunities to ask questions, try something new and discover different ways of thinking.

With interactive booths, university demonstrations, external exhibitors and student-led projects all coming together in one space, the event highlighted the importance of learning through curiosity, creativity, collaboration and experimentation.

At Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens, we are proud to create opportunities for our students to explore their interests and develop the skills they need for the future. STEAM Day 2026 was a celebration of innovation and discovery — and a reminder that meaningful learning can happen when students are given the freedom to explore, experiment and create.
