Students from Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens recently put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test at the Marlborough College Malaysia STEM Conference 2026 – Innovation in Healthcare STEM Competition, developing technology-driven solutions to real-world healthcare challenges. Junior Champions with a Smart Wheelchair Our KS3 students were crowned Champions in the Junior Category with their innovative Smart Wheelchair. Designed to support people with mobility challenges, the project brought together technology, engineering and thoughtful design to help promote greater independence, accessibility and ease of movement. Third Place for Healthcare Technology Innovation In the Senior Category (KS4), our students achieved an impressive Third Place with a smartwatch app designed to support people living with diabetes. Their idea explored how everyday technology could make health management more convenient and accessible, demonstrating the potential for STEM to solve meaningful, real-world problems. Turning STEM Learning into Real-World Solutions Opportunities like the MCM STEM Conference allow our students to take what they learn in the classroom and put it into practice. From identifying a problem to developing and presenting a solution, students build valuable skills in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication and innovation. For families looking for an International School in Johor Bahru with a strong focus on STEM education, these experiences reflect how students at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens are encouraged to think beyond exams and consider how their knowledge can make a positive difference. We are incredibly proud of our students for their achievements at the MCM STEM Conference 2026 and, most importantly, for showing what can happen when curiosity, technology and purpose come together.
