Creativity met critical thinking as students from Sekolah Tenby Ipoh showcased inspiring projects during STEAM Fair 2026, demonstrating how classroom learning can solve real challenges. This year's fair featured two exciting themes. Primary students explored the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), designing practical solutions to support a more sustainable future. Meanwhile, Secondary students looked beyond our planet with "Life Beyond Earth", presenting innovative concepts inspired by the Global ISP Scientist theme.Visitors explored a wide range of interactive exhibits, each reflecting the students' curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills.Among the standout projects were:Blocking radiation on Mars – investigating materials and technologies that could protect future astronauts from harmful space radiation.Mars Living Challenge – exploring how ice could become a valuable resource for building shelters, producing water and supporting human life on Mars.Smart Farming Solutions – developing innovative farming systems that use technology to improve food production while conserving resources.A variety of sustainability-focused innovations addressing renewable energy, waste management, water conservation and environmental protection.Rather than simply presenting scientific concepts, students explained the research behind their ideas, tested prototypes and demonstrated how their solutions could make a meaningful impact. Throughout the exhibition, they confidently answered questions, shared their findings and engaged visitors with hands-on demonstrations. The event highlighted how STEAM education at Sekolah Tenby Ipoh goes beyond textbooks. By combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, students develop the confidence to investigate problems, collaborate with others and create innovative solutions for an ever-changing world. For Primary students, the UN Sustainable Development Goals encouraged them to think about the challenges facing communities today and how they can contribute to a better future. For Secondary students, the Life Beyond Earth theme challenged them to imagine what human life could look like beyond our planet, inspiring scientific thinking that reaches far beyond the classroom. The STEAM Fair 2026 was more than an exhibition – it was a celebration of curiosity, collaboration and future-ready learning.
