National Primary School (KSSR)

Age 7-12

At Sekolah Sri Tenby Ipoh, we blend the Malaysian National Curriculum with a global perspective, preparing students for success both locally and internationally. Our unique approach combines local students with international exposure, all in an English-speaking environment. Students benefit from a well-rounded experience, grounded in core subjects, while gaining a global outlook.

Our curriculum

Tenby National Primary School follows the Malaysian National Primary School Standard Curriculum (KSSR) for ages 7 to 12 (Standard 1 to 6). Our dynamic, skills-focused methodology replaces traditional approaches by prioritising student understanding, active participation, and two-way communication—empowering students to take charge of their own learning journey.

Opportunities for all

Students can enjoy personal development events like public speaking and social learning talks, participate in national and local competitions - such as coding, robotics, and sports and engage in environmental awareness activities. Our choice of 60 co-curricular activities as part of our C.A.S.E (Creativity, Action, Service and Enrichment) programme helps students pursue their passions, build friendships, and develop a strong sense of identity and community.

Student leadership opportunities

At our International School in Ipoh, we offer a variety of child leadership roles that encourage students to take responsibility, build confidence, and develop essential teamwork and communication skills. Whether leading their peers in group projects, helping organize events, or representing their class, these roles help children grow into responsible, self-assured individuals ready for future challenges.

Further afield

We love planning exciting experiences for our primary students. Throughout the year, we arrange delightful day trips to fascinating places, enriching our students' learning outside the traditional classroom setting. In the past our primary students have enjoyed trips to the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur, day trips to Saloma Grape Vineyard, Dim Sum workshops and a particular highlight is the sleepover in the school during Standards 1 to 4. These educational trips are not only great fun but also a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen friendships and develop independence. These trips create lasting memories and important learning opportunities outside the classroom.

House communities

Our campus-wide House System gives every child the chance to shine beyond the classroom, earning House Points for their talents in sports, environmental projects, community service, and creative pursuits. With four vibrant house groups - Chimera, Hydra, Cerberus, and Typhon - there's a place for every unique skill and passion. Which house will your child join?

Next steps

At the end of the Primary school journey students can choose to continue their education at Sekolah Sri Tenby under the Malaysian National Curriculum for their Secondary years or opt to join Tenby International School to work towards their IGCSE exams. Both pathways are designed to support your child's academic growth and future success.
