Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park sits in one of the more established parts of Shah Alam, and that shows up in the depth of its co-curricular programme rather than in a list of new facilities. As part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), both our national and international students can take part inInternational Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), including ISP Chess Masters, where our students have achieved top results for consecutive years while competing with students from across the ISP global network in 26 countries, and ISP Model United Nations (MUN), which Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park has had the privilege of hosting physically on campus, bringing together students from across the ISP community to debate, collaborate and connect with peers from around the world, rather than existing as a newly launched club.

A student's leadership development is easier to take seriously when it is structured rather than incidental. Across Primary and Secondary, more than 100 student leadership opportunities are available through roles including Prefects, Eco Warriors, Librarians, Media Team members, Sports Captains, Charity Pillar, STEAM Pillar, Student Welfare Committee and Student Ambassadors, giving students real responsibility, not a title handed out for a yearbook photo, and that responsibility tends to shape how a student handles group work and pressure well beyond school.

Pastoral care sits underneath all of this. Pastoral and wellbeing support within each year group, a full-time counsellor and nurse on campus, and a dedicated safeguarding team determines how quickly the school notices a student struggling emotionally, not only academically, in a class small enough for that to actually happen.

Community involvement is worth naming specifically too. Through our annual charity initiatives, students have opportunities to set up and run booths to raise donations for organisations such as Street Child United. More recently, our students visited Sai Pandian Orphanage Children’s Home to donate groceries and spend time interacting with the children there. These experiences give students exposure to responsibility outside their immediate circumstances, which increasingly matters in university and scholarship applications that look for more than an exam transcript.

The campus community itself draws from families who have been in the Setia Eco Park area for years alongside newer arrivals to the wider Setia Alam area, which gives events and clubs a settled, multi-generational feel rather than a first-year startup energy.

None of this means a government school limits a student's growth. Families who invest time in outside activities get excellent results too. It simply means this kind of development is already built into the week at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park.

It is worth being specific about what "holistic" actually covers rather than leaving it as a vague phrase in a brochure. In practice it tends to break down into sport, the arts, academic enrichment such as debate or robotics, and community or service-based activity. At Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, the focus is on being a well-rounded school where students are given opportunities to push themselves in the areas where they are strongest. Our students have represented Malaysia and Selangor in sports, performed on international stages in music, and had their work selected for ISP exhibitions alongside students from around the world. This gives a clearer picture for a family choosing between a national or international school programme where both claim to offer the same thing in general terms.

The long-term value of this is easy to underestimate in the early primary school (sekolah rendah) years and much clearer by the final years of secondary school (sekolah menengah). A student with years of structured co-curricular involvement and real leadership responsibility tends to have considerably more to say in a scholarship interview than exam results alone would give them.
