The event gave our students the opportunity to experience Japanese-inspired cultural traditions in a lively setting while connecting with participants and spectators from across Penang. Experiencing Culture Beyond the Classroom Taking part in the Penang Yosakoi Parade offered students a different kind of learning experience. Beyond rehearsals and performances, they were able to experience how music, movement and tradition can bring people together. Participating as a group also encouraged students to build confidence, collaborate with one another and represent the school within the wider community. For many of our students, the parade was also an opportunity to appreciate another culture through direct participation rather than simply learning about it in the classroom. Celebrating Community Through Yosakoi Known for its energetic performances and colourful atmosphere, Yosakoi brings together dance, music and cultural expression. During the Penang Yosakoi Parade 2026, our students joined the celebrations with enthusiasm, bringing their own energy and Tenby spirit to the event. The parade created a memorable environment where students could interact with the wider Penang community and experience the diversity that makes the city such a unique place to live and learn. Building Confidence Through New Experiences Opportunities beyond the classroom play an important role in helping students develop as individuals. Participating in community events such as the Penang Yosakoi Parade encourages students to step outside their comfort zones, perform in front of others and work together towards a shared experience. These moments help develop qualities such as confidence, collaboration, cultural awareness and communication while creating lasting memories with friends and teachers.
