Students from Tenby Schools Penang recently took their learning beyond the classroom through the Cambridge Summer Course with Embassy Summer in Cambridge, UK. The international learning experience gave students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a new academic and cultural environment while developing greater confidence, independence and global awareness. Learning Beyond the Classroom in Cambridge During the programme, students experienced learning in the historic city of Cambridge, one of the world’s most recognised centres of education. Alongside academic activities, they explored Cambridge’s rich heritage and iconic surroundings, including the historic streets and renowned university landmarks that have shaped the city’s identity for centuries. The experience allowed students to see learning from a different perspective while gaining a glimpse into life in an international academic environment. Discovering British History and Culture The journey extended beyond Cambridge, with students also experiencing some of the United Kingdom’s most famous cultural and historic destinations. From visiting significant landmarks in Cambridge to discovering well-known sights across London, students were able to connect what they had learned with real-world experiences. These opportunities helped bring history and culture to life while encouraging students to stay curious about the communities, traditions and places around them. Building Global Friendships and New Perspectives An important part of the Cambridge Summer Course with Embassy Summer was the opportunity to meet and interact with students from different countries. Through shared activities, discussions and social experiences, Tenby Schools Penang students developed friendships across cultures while exchanging ideas and learning from different perspectives. Experiences like these help young people strengthen communication skills, cultural awareness and adaptability — qualities that are increasingly valuable in an interconnected world.
