Milepost 1 Students Explore the Wonders of the Rainforest at Tropical Spice Garden

Milepost 1 Students Explore Nature Through Hands-On Learning at Tropical Spice Garden.

Milepost 1 students recently enjoyed an enriching educational visit to Tropical Spice Garden, where the rainforest became a living classroom filled with opportunities for discovery, exploration and hands-on learning.

As part of their learning journey, students explored the rainforest ecosystem and gained a deeper understanding of how different living organisms contribute to a healthy environment.

Planting for the Future

The adventure continued with a hands-on planting activity, where each student planted mugwort and Brazilian spinach seedlings to take home. This activity encouraged students to take responsibility for nurturing a living plant while learning more about sustainability and plant growth.

By caring for their seedlings at home, students will continue their learning long after the visit, observing how plants grow and understanding the conditions they need to thrive.

Growing Curious and Confident Learners

At Tenby Schools Penang, we believe meaningful learning happens when students can explore, question and experience concepts for themselves. Educational visits such as this help nurture curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning.

The trip to Tropical Spice Garden was filled with memorable moments, from discovering the hidden wonders of the rainforest ecosystem to getting their hands dirty while planting seedlings. Most importantly, it gave students the opportunity to learn through experience, making learning engaging, relevant and enjoyable.

We look forward to creating more opportunities for our students to explore the world around them and continue growing through hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
