STEAM enriches the Malaysian National Curriculum by going beyond STEM’s focus on technical knowledge to also nurture creativity, innovation, and holistic thinking. By integrating the Arts, students gain new ways to express ideas, approach problems with design thinking, and connect learning to real-world experiences. This shift supports national goals of producing future-ready learners who are not only skilled in science and technology but also adaptable, creative, and globally minded (HRMARS Journal, 2017).
STEAM equips learners with the adaptability and creativity that industries demand. From engineering to healthcare and design, employers look for problem-solvers who can innovate. By linking lessons to real-world applications, STEAM develops exactly those skills. Research highlights its positive impact on career readiness and innovation skills in higher education students (Malaysian Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, 2023)
Students will learn English and Malay with the option of learning Mandarin everyday. We also offer after-school opportunities to learn foreign languages such as Japanese and Korean. Private National school students will learn Malay, English and Mandarin.
Students innovate and learn with tools like VEX Go and VEX IQ from VEX Robotics, ByteEd coding, VEXcode VR, Python, White Rose Maths, Strawbess, GarageBand and more.
We offer over 75 CCAs in sports, arts, tech, clubs and global learning, ranging from Model United Nations to community projects.
The school actively encourages parents to get involved in school events. Parents will be informed accordingly on how they can support and participate in activities with their child and the school.
We also have a Community Support Committee (CSC) that is chaired by our parents and the school actively collaborates with the CSC on various activities.
Additionally, there are year group representatives and a new parent liaison group within the International and National School.
