Our Year 9 Design & Technology students took on a unique challenge

At Tenby International School Tropicana Aman (TTA), hands-on learning is at the heart of our approach. Recently, our Year 9 Design & Technology students took on a unique challenge: How far can you launch an egg using just a rubber band?

This exciting project required students to design and build devices that combine creativity, science, and engineering know-how. From reducing friction using bearings to converting stored energy into motion, they applied real engineering principles to power their custom-built egg buggies forward.

The activity encouraged problem-solving, innovation, and teamwork, as students tested, refined, and improved their designs to achieve the best results. More importantly, they gained valuable experience in applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

By engaging in projects like the Egg Buggy Challenge, our students not only develop technical skills but also cultivate resilience, adaptability, and a mindset geared towards finding creative solutions.

At TTA, we believe that learning is most powerful when it is active, practical, and relevant-preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow.
