Year 11 student Julius has made history as the first Malaysian to win the 19th IGB Dato Arthur Tan Malaysian Open Chess Championship and the SMS Deen Merdeka Open Rapid Team Chess Championship 2024!

As Julius prepares to take on his next challenge at the Singapore International Open, we couldn’t be prouder. This is not just a personal victory but a moment of inspiration for the entire Tenby Schools community.

Let’s cheer him on as he represents Malaysia and Tenby Schools Penang on the international stage!

It's also great to see our Tenby Schools Penang 5Cs in action. Julius’ success is a testament to his Critical Thinking on the chessboard, Creativity in strategy, and Character in staying composed under pressure. He’s a great example of the strong sense of Community we foster here.
