*Please note that ALL documentation must be complete before we can proceed to process your child’s admission.
STEP 2: To pay RM500 non-refundable Application Fee.
STEP 3: To schedule a date for your child’s assessment. Please contact the school before making travel arrangements.
Ages 3-5: Your child will join the appropriate class and be assessed by their class teachers. Please note that the basic requirement of entry to Nursery & Reception is that children must be toilet trained.
Ages 6-8: Your child will undergo a paper based assessment that tests a child’s verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills that will take approximately 1 hour. They will then attend classes for the rest of the day.
All applicants from Years 3 upwards have an interview with the relevant Head of School or their representative in order to determine their suitability for admission and to assess whether or not they will be able to integrate successfully into the School. This is usually completed on the same day as the entrance assessments.
Applicants for Early Years and Years 1 & 2 will be discussed by the Head of Primary and class teacher who carried out the in-class assessment.
Ages 9-16: Your child will undergo a computerised assessment called the Cognitive Abilities Test 4 (CAT4) that is approximately 2 - 3 hours. Click here for more information about this test. Children applying for the Primary school will then attend for the rest of the day known as a Discovery Day. Applicants for Secondary National and International are required to sit an English placement test, to gauge their current level. As English is our language of instruction, decisions are driven by the applicant’s current proficiency, and whether the School can cater for their language needs based on the current language provision available. The School is not currently able to cater for absolute beginners in English and, therefore, the student would not profit. Applicants to the National school will also complete a Bahasa Melayu placement assessment, as many of the lessons in the Sekolah Sri Tenby are taught in Bahasa.
STEP 4: We will inform you on the outcome of the assessment within 7 working days.
If the assessment is successful, a Letter of Offer will be issued. You will then have 10 working days to accept or decline the offer.
If the assessment is unsuccessful, a Placement Declined letter will be issued.
STEP 5: To accept the offer, the non-refundable Registration Fee and One Term’s Deposit are required within the offer deadline.
