Carmina Burana Concert at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, KLCC

Sunday, 8th May 2016

Tenby Schools staged a very successful "Carmina Burana" concert at the prestigious Dewan Filharmonik Petronass in KLCC recently. The musical talents of all five campuses came together and performed the iconic musical piece to a full house of audience, guided by a very able conductor, Mr Andrew Auster, former Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park.

Carmina Burana (meaning "Songs of Beuron") by Carl Orff, is a collection of 13th century lyrics set to a dynamic, percussive score. The mesmerising 65-minute performance is about the wheel of fortune and the capricious nature of fate - sometimes one is up, sometimes one is down, but the wheel keeps turning. The performance was given by a large symphony orchestra, vocal soloists, dancers, and a choir of over 200 voices.
