Tenby Kindergarten

Curriculum Information

Tenby Kindergarten is a school which provides education and care for children from 4 to 6 years of age. We believe every child can learn to read, to write and to count. We emphasize the method of ‘learn-through-playing’ where children will find the lesson lively, enjoyable, memorable and interesting.

The children have the opportunity to participate in PE, Computer, Art, Drama and Music classes each week. They are able to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world as they participate in activities related to different topics. In addition, the children will have the opportunity to explore, inquire and discover aspects related to Geography, History, Technology and Science. The activities on offer also help the children to develop an international mind-set alongside their awareness of their own nationality.

We also use materials and activities which ensure that your child is ready and prepared to join the Standard One class in both government and private schools here in Malaysia.

We place a very big emphasis on the child’s desire to learn and believe that their Social and Emotional Development are very important. During all activities, this aspect of their development is encouraged and supported so that we create enthusiastic, motivated and excited learners. We believe that it is vital that they develop the right attitudes and dispositions to become lifelong learners.

Our Classrooms

Our classrooms are well equipped and they are organized into specific areas for learning. Some of the areas for learning are Role-play, Art, Writing Area, Maths Area, Small World and a mat area for Circle Time. This classroom set-up helps to ensure that the children develop their independence. The classes have immediate access to the outdoor area. We consider the outside to be just as important as the inside classroom. Inside, the classroom displays reflect and celebrate the children’s work. They are bright and colourful and they are designed to encourage observation and discussion. They support the children’s learning as they give them an opportunity to reflect on topics already done or current topics.

  • On-going assessment
The teachers will be carrying out assessment of your child continuously to ensure that they are meeting your child’s needs.
