A Tradition of Learning and Excellence

An established presence and tradition of educational achievement, Sekolah Sri Tenby (formerly Sekolah Sri Inai Pulau Pinang) was the first private school in Penang in 1981. The school still remains the largest and premier private school in Penang. Many students from Sri Tenby have gone on to be leaders of industries and government.

An Integrated Programme from Pre-School to Fifth Form

Tenby Kindergarten is an excellent foundation for young learners (3 to 6 years old) with its innovative approach to early learning. Sekolah Sri Tenby Primary (Standard 1 to 6) teaches the Malaysisn KSSR Primary Curriculum. In addition to the five core subjects taken for the UPSR (Standard 6 Government examination), students may opt to take Chinese as an additional subject.

After the UPSR examination in Standard 6, preparatory lessons in English, Bahasa Melayu and Mathematics are provided to those requiring them, to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for those who wish to continue their secondary education at Sekolah Sri Tenby Secondary.

Sekolah Sri Tenby Secondary offers the Malaysian KBSM Secondary Curriculum for Form 1 to Form 5. The students here have the opportunity to learn and interact within an international community in the school, as both the school and Tenby International School are located on the same campus at No 2, Lintang Lembah Permai 1, Tanjung Bungah, 11200 Penang.

A comprehensive list of subjects for both Arts and Science streams are offered in the school. Students also have the option of sitting for IGCSE subjects to complement the local curriculum, through an arrangement with Tenby International School, Penang.

Student-Centred Learning

Small class sizes ensure personal attention to every student, with individual progress closely monitored.

The extended school hours (8:00am to 3:30pm) for both primary and secondary sessions essentially mean that every student receives adequate teaching in the various subjects, and there is no need for extra tuition outside school. Where required, the school arranges remedial classes at no extra cost.

The single-session co-educational concept means convenience to parents, a better all-round education for your child, and more quality family time.

Developing the Student’s Potential

We recognise that school life is more than academic. To this end, a full range of activities beyond the classroom ensures that every student finds his place, develops his identity and thrives in the rich and multi-faceted community life that makes up Sekolah Sri Tenby.

Clubs and society abound, from performing arts, to sports to the uniformed societies. We are particularly proud of our award-winning Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Dual Language Programme (DLP) at Sekolah Sri Tenby

Sekolah Sri Tenby has been given the approval to teach Mathematics and Science in English under the Dual Language Programme (DLP) at three entry points (Standard 1, Standard 4 and Form 1) from 2016.  All other classes will join these entry points after 2016.

The DLP is part of the Malaysian government's effort to uphold Bahasa Malaysia and strengthen the usage of English in schools.  Only 300 schools across Malaysia have been selected (148 primary schools and 152 secondary schools) to participate in the programme.

Sekolah Sri Tenby has been using the bi-lingual approach in the delivery of the national curriculum all these years. The programme supports and reiterates our ethos of providing national education with international approaches at Tenby Schools and our parents are strongly in support of this.

The DLP at Tenby Schools will be rolled out as the schedule below.
