This is an increasingly formal period of education for the students, and all subjects are taught by specialist teachers in English. At Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to 9), the school follows the National Curriculum for England appropriately modified for international students. All students study the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Information Communication Technology (ICT) together with Geography, History, Design – Technology, Music, Drama, Physical Education, Art and Modern Foreign Language (MFL).
External assessment at the end of Key Stage 3 is through the Checkpoint test administered by CIE. At Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and 11), students choose from a range of subjects from the Languages, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology and Arts groups, leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination.
The IGCSE is an internationally renowned and recognised qualification for further education.
